    Developing ways to support your people getting ready to retire

The brief

Our client, an international banking group, wanted to increase pension awareness among their 55+ age group. Keen to work collaboratively with a creative team, they wanted to develop a workshop pilot project which would really engage this group in a fresh and informative way. A successful result for the pilot would result in roll-out for all offices across the UK.

Key aims:

  • Make sure each person is equipped with the information and tools they need to prepare for retirement.
  • Provide a personal learning experience, open enough to encourage members’ participation.
  • Ensure their people feel valued and confident in making their own decisions.
  • Highlight the role of the company in providing tailored information for their long-term financial wellbeing.

Analyse and Consult

We carried out a detailed analysis of the 55+ age group and retirement support already in place to find out:

• How their people would want to be communicated with.
• What existing collateral we could use.
• What additional literature would be useful.
• How we’d be able to measure results.

Deliver

We used the survey results to build the pilot strategy around:

  • Face to face presentations for a select pilot group.
  • Delivery in collaboration with their trusted, in-house pension manager.
  • At Retirement pack to take away including a copy of the presentation, leaflet signposting online resources from their pension provider and linked directly to the presentation, a ‘Get in touch’ sheet with clear info on where to go for specific help and a ‘Myth buster’ dispelling common misconceptions about pensions.
  • Open forum to encourage interaction and questions.

Check

As part of our process we surveyed the people who attended the pilot session to check:

  • Good level of participation from attendees?
  • Comprehensive feedback to help shape direction for future workshops?
  • Enough positive feedback to evidence clear reasons for nationwide rollout across the company?

Success!

Each key objective was met and positive feedback received from all attendees as well as the HR team.
As a result the company agreed to a nationwide rollout plan.
